Yvette Pegues
Wife, mother, former Networking and Systems Engineer, Ms. Wheelchair International and avid traveler are just a few words that come to mind when describing Yvette Pegues. Yvette is no stranger to technology, after all she was recruited by IBM right out of college. Little did she know how far adapted technology had truly progressed.
Shortly after being diagnosed in the ER with a genetic brain defect, presenting as right-side paralysis, Yvette found herself facing a life-altering brain decompression surgery that resulted in the loss of use of both legs as well as loss of Executive Function (Intellectual Disability).
When Yvette isn’t busy being a wife and mother to her young boys in Canton, Georgia, she works as a corporate disability consultant, cultivating the corporate workplace culture for diversity and disability integration. She is a published author, disability/family advocate and volunteers at many local hospitals as an abilities mentor. Yvette is also a proud spokesperson for Pride Mobility Products Corporation, and an avid traveler looking to share her experiences and tips!
